Shape Brno to your needs: The Great Brno Expat Survey III, 2026
City officials and the Brno Expat Centre are once again asking about your experience living in Brno. We want to hear your thoughts so we can keep pushing the city in the right direction.
It’s the biggest research into the international community in the Czech Republic. The survey is detailed, and the whole undertaking is massive. However, we have a dedicated team of researchers and a listening ear at the Brno Municipality.
Make yourself a coffee, open the questionnaire, and invest 30 minutes in the city’s future. Be a part of changing things for the better.
Please share this link with your international friends, too.

Your voice brings real changes
In our previous surveys, including the 2019 survey results and the 2023 expat survey, thousands of expats took part.
Their input directly inspired or shaped several new policies. For example, we designed and kicked off our spouse programme. This helps expats who followed their partners to the Czech Republic find their own purpose here. We now offer them free career consulting, business advice, networking opportunities, and social trips to explore their new home.
English-friendly public offices
A frequently mentioned pain point in past surveys was the lack of English-speaking staff at public offices. We’re far from solving this completely, but there has been undeniable progress.
Instructions on the walls of city buildings are being translated into English. The trade licence office now communicates in English, and you can book an interpreter for the car registration office every Wednesday. This progress would have been much harder to achieve without the clear voices from our previous respondents. Support similar efforts by sharing your experience this year!
Who can take part?
We invite internationals currently working, studying, or living in Brno or the South Moravian Region to answer the questionnaire. This also applies to foreigners who lived here in the past.
We especially welcome partners who followed their loved ones to Brno. Your answers help us design better support services for families.
Why are we asking?
Brno city officials want to know how foreign professionals, their families, and students feel about living in our region. By sharing your views on public services, careers, and family life, you help us improve the services provided and boost the quality of life for all internationals in Brno.
