When & Where?

17 September 2020

14:00 - 22:00
Orlí 3, 2nd floor

Event booking

We have not one, but TWO reasons to celebrate this September!

1) It has been 10 years since the Brno Expat Centre started helping expats settle in Brno. Things have moved on since then and now there’s a whole team of people taking care of the needs of over 7000 Brno expats. Let’s recall some of these moments and celebrate how far we’ve come. But – there’s always room for improvement, so you can make use of the occasion and let us know what else could be better in Brno.

2) Although it’s been a while since we moved our new office to Orlí 3, we didn’t have a chance to present it to you all properly (for obvious reasons…). So now is the chance for you to check out our new premises and all they can offer: Our comfy consultation space. Our café bar which makes it easy to serve you some refreshments. Our not-so-usual offices, designed by our very own style mavens Mari and Lucia. Our wonderful, spacious community room, amazingly decorated by Caitlin. And one more cosy nook on top.

It took quite a bit of work but now we’re really happy to welcome you and also share some fun programme while you enjoy some local wine. You can look forward to the following:

  • 14:00  Open door
  • 14:30  Book reading and crafts for kids with Diana Buritica and the A Proč? Book Club
  • 16:00  Aude Martin sings lullabies from different countries, collected from expat mums
  • 17:30  ‘Cracking the Czechs’ – a 30min fun presentation of Czech mentality with Don and Lucia
  • 18:00  10th Anniversary toast & cake
  • 19:30  Czech film screening: Cutting it Short (Postřižiny) by Oscar-winner Jiří Menzel, in cooperation with Kino Art

All of the BEC team will be present so it’s also your chance to ask us any questions. Feel free to come and go as you please.

We look forward to meeting you!
