The Mayor of Brno paid us a visit
Our office welcomed truly esteemed guests! The Mayor of Brno herself, Markéta Vaňková, paid us a visit, together with the Deputy Mayor Tomáš Koláčný (for city property, culture, IT and strategy), City Council Executive member Marek Fišer (for culture), and Tereza Chrástová from the Department of Strategic Development and Cooperation. The City of Brno provides funding to the Brno Expat Centre, as a free service dedicated to helping foreign professionals.
We talked of some of the sorest issues that expats in Brno repeatedly face. We were also happy to show our (still rather new) offices and accept their kind words of encouragement:
“Brno was the first and until recently the only city in the CR with its own public service focused on talented and highly qualified foreigners. After ten years of helping expats, we can be proud of what the centre accomplished, and for becoming an isnpiration to many other cities across Europe. Thank you, the BEC team, for doing a great job,” said the Mayor. “I wish you another ten such successful years!”
