Good News for Dual Employee Card Holders: More Time to Find a Job

Starting from 1 October 2025, there’s a positive change for anyone in the Czech Republic with a dual employee card. If you lose your job, you’ll now have 90 days to find a new one — instead of just 60.

(Not sure what a dual employee card is, or if you have one? Read our explanation here)

That extra month can make a big difference. It gives you more breathing room to look for the right position without the stress of running out of time.

As before, once you find new work, you’ll need to report it to the Ministry of the Interior (Find out how to report the change of employer here). But now you’ll have a longer window to get everything sorted.

This change is designed to make life a little easier for international workers in the Czech Republic. So, if you’re working here on a dual employee card, you can relax a bit — you’ve got more time on your side.
