Socializing and networking

There are plenty of expat-friendly opportunities to meet new people in Brno.

First of all, the Brno Expat Centre organizes free-of-charge events every month  both expert seminars and informal meetings, trips and sports tournaments. Keep an eye on what’s coming up.

Members of the international communities in Brno get together regularly, too. English in Brno is an informal society of English speakers – students, teachers, foreigners, and locals. They meet every week at different places and times.

On a monthly basis you can build up contacts with Brno expats at events of Internations Brno, Coachsurfing and Foreigners.cz.

Brno is home to cultural institutes such as British CouncilAlliance française and Österreich Institut that besides language courses provide cultural activities.

If you’d like to mingle with a younger crowd, universities have their international student clubs  Masaryk University, University of Technology and Mendel University. And there also is the Erasmus Student Network.

You are certain to bump into foreigners at bars such as East Village, The Immigrant and Clubwash. The last two, together with U Palečka, organize pub quiz nights in English. Expats also like to hang out around the public electric grill in Lužánky park just grab a few friends and something to BBQ!

For more virtual socializing, visit the Facebook groups Living in Brno, Brno Expat Women’s Network, Brno Expat Family Network, Mixed Race Families, Sports Brno International. We also have put together a comprehensive list of various language & national groups in Brno.
