If you’ve ever looked forward to summer with your children and then wondered, three days in, why everyone is crying, arguing, sticky, hungry and somehow bored… you’re not alone.

You were promised freedom: no school runs, no homework battles, no morning rush. More time together, more sunshine, more ease. And yet summer can quickly become the season where children lose their rhythm, parents lose their patience, and the house starts to feel less like a holiday and more like a small emotional weather system.

What happens is that children often need more structure, connection and emotional holding when the usual routines disappear — not less.

Summer with Children: Freedom or Chaos? is a warm, honest space to understand what really happens to children — and to us as parents — when freedom becomes too much.

We’ll look at why meltdowns, sibling fights, resistance and exhaustion often increase during holidays, and how you can stay more grounded without becoming a full-time entertainer, referee and snack machine.

Led by expat parenting coach Eszter Sarody.
