Join us for a trip to the impressive monastery in Rajhrad near Brno. It is one of the oldest and most famous monasteries in Moravia. The Benedictine monastery, founded according to tradition in 1045 and extended in 1739, has always served as a centre of culture and education. Apart from the monastery we wil visit the Abbey Church of St. Peter and Paul and the Memorial of Literature in Moravia with its historical library which stores over 65 000 written treasures from the beginning of the 9th century to the present date, literature written in Moravian dialects and Moravian bibliophilic prints. The monastery and the museum tour is crowned by a visit to the newly restored Benedictine library. We may possibly follow up by lunch in the Benedictine Tavern.

Meeting point: Main train station at 8:45 a.m.
Expected return: cca 2 p.m.
Entrance fee: 90 CZK

The event primarily targets spouses and family members of highly qualified expat employees working in Brno. However, any expats interested in networking and learning about Brno and city services are welcome to join.
