Explore the historic drama theatre with us. Today’s Mahen Theatre, built as the German Deutsches Stadttheater in 1882, was one of the first public buildings in the world lit entirely by electric light.

The guided tour will take us through the main venues of the theatre, including the backstage area, which is normally inaccessible. Sylvie will interpret the Czech commentary into English.

After the tour, there will be a short walk around the neighbourhood connected with the history of the theatre.

Payment is 200 CZK/person, seniors and students 140 CZK in cash or by card at the theatre box office (instructions will be provided on site).

Meeting place: 9:45 a.m. at the service entrance to the theatre on Rooseveltova Street (near tram stop no. 1).
