Don’s Walk: Brno and Women

Join us for another one of Don Sparling’s famous walks, all new and original. With his 50+ years of Brno knowledge, he’ll guide you through the city’s history and in his very special way help you understand what makes it what it is. 

It’s a familiar story. The past is all about Great Men. But who and where were the Great Women?

In the course of this walk you’ll be introduced to a couple of dozen amazing women from Brno who’ve made major contributions over the centuries in such areas as the fine arts, theatre, music, dance, education, religious life, law, the city’s defence, international security, and social betterment.

Without their work, Brno – and indeed the world – would be much poorer.  And yet for the most part their achievements remain hidden or forgotten. Hopefully this walk will help reveal to you the missing half of Brno’s story.

Meeting place: The little park just above St Anne’s Hospital on Pekařská street.
