Brno awaits a day of ideas worth spreading

Would you like to know what connects a hospital clown, a professional story-teller and a technology geek? And do you sometimes get tired of your professional world? Then you don’t want to miss TEDxBrno.
TEDxBrno is not just another conference of which you have experienced dozens. This unique format combines smart, imaginative and communicative people from various disciplines and gives them an opportunity to look beyond their professional worlds. Lectures are strictly limited to 18 minutes tops.

As a global phenomenon, TEDx was born from the prestigious TED (Technology-Entertainment-Design) platform for ideas worth spreading. Close to 10 000 events have been held since 1990, in over 2000 cities of 153 countries. And about 200 events take place every month, be it in Silicon Valley, Oxford University, Mt Everest or a train from Maastricht to Amsterdam.
In Brno, TEDx will take place for the fourth time. It is organised by the Brnopolis NGO which runs Brno Expat Centre as well. Come mingle with 300 similar-minded people to the Reduta theatre on Saturday, June 28! (By the way, on the same day there will also be a TEDx held in La Plata, Argentina and Toronto, Canada.)
This year’s theme is Touch of Independence. Read first few profiles of our speakers and more details on how to participate. The ticket sale starts on Monday, May 12.
TEDxBrno sells out speedily, but do not despair. Brno expats that are registered with Brno Expat Centre have the privilege to book tickets until the end of May and be approved even if on a waiting list. Should you wish to attend, just let us know at sedlackova@brnopolis.eu in addition to registering online.
The tickets cost 980 CZK, for which you will get a minimum of 15 live talks simultaneously interpreted in English, food and beverages for the whole day, printed booklet and notebook, and an afterparty. We look forward to seeing you at TEDxBrno!
